What is your philosophy about educating children?
As an Early Childhood Teacher and Centre Manager, my ultimate goal of early education is to encourage educators to activate each child’s own natural desire to learn. In order for this to occur, children need to be provided with a stimulating environment, where they feel safe and are confident to express themselves freely.
I aim to empower educators to implement an educational program and environment that reflects the children’s interests, developmental stage and individuality through play, allowing them to be active participants in their learning. When families’, educators’ and children’s perspectives, insights and information combine, everyone benefits, especially the children. Each day I aim for our early learning service to be a happy place, where children and educators can laugh, play and have fun on their journey of discovery in “learning to learn.”
What makes your team/centre special?
Our team of educators and the size of our service! Our 38 place centre allows all of the educators to get to know the children in each room. We also have an outdoor play space that is shared with all ages. This gives children the opportunity to interact with siblings and peers of ranging ages.

What message would you like to tell parents considering your centre?
Kindy Patch Floraville is an educational service that provides children with a nurturing environment, with opportunities to grow and develop from a very young age right up until they begin school.. Our educators provide a play based learning approach to ensure we create curious and confident learners. We have strong links with the local schools and provide the children with a range of school readiness opportunities. We use activities within the classrooms to support children to learn, explore, discover and negotiate.
