Childcare and preschool in Forresters Beach, NSW

Kindy Patch Forresters Beach offers long day care and a preschool program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Forresters Beach, Bateau Bay and Wamberal on the Central Coast.

Shaded outdoor areas for different ages

Children have access to two spacious, shaded outdoor areas designed for age-appropriate play. With sandpits, a double slide fort, climbing equipment and vegetable gardens, children have space to move, dig, climb, garden and enjoy outdoor play throughout the day.

Natural resources and a dedicated art room

Indoors, children explore open-ended natural resources, a state-of-the-art art room and an interactive whiteboard in the preschool room. These spaces give children different ways to create, investigate, express ideas and take part in group learning.

Dedicated team with low turnover

Our team has very low turnover, with most educators and teachers having been with the centre for more than eight years. This consistency gives children familiar faces each day and helps families build strong, trusting relationships with the team.

Individual Learning Plans for every child

We develop Individual Learning Plans for each child, reflecting their interests, strengths and developmental goals, and work in partnership with families to review and update each plan over time.

Government-approved Preschool program

Our Government-approved Preschool program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Children build confidence for school through play-based learning, routines, friendships and growing independence.

Incursions and family events

The centre hosts annual dentist visits, eye testing and wildlife shows, bringing extra learning experiences into the program. Families are also invited to join special centre events, including Grandparents Day.

Healthy meals prepared daily

Children are offered fresh meals and snacks throughout the day, with menus planned for variety and balance. Allergies and individual dietary requirements are catered for.

Daily updates through our family app

Families can follow their child’s day through our family app, with regular photos and updates about their daily routines, play, learning progress and centre experiences.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Forresters Beach, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

We promote sustainability through our worm farm, turning off lights during the day, and educating children about the importance of recycling. We have recycling bins placed throughout our centre to encourage responsible waste management.

Exploration and problem solving

Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Music and movement

Our exclusive Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

Language and early literacy

Children develop early literacy through storytelling, books, songs and meaningful conversations. Educators support children to explore language in many forms, including speaking, listening, viewing, drawing and writing, while building confidence communicating with others.

Age-appropriate early learning

We provide learning experiences tailored to each stage of your child’s development. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and designed to support children’s wellbeing, confidence and growing independence.

See more We’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about Kindy Patch Forresters Beach from friends, and it’s easy to see why. The new Centre Manager is absolutely lovely, so warm, welcoming, and approachable from the moment you walk in. She genuinely interacts with the children, makes them feel special, and ensures they are the priority during our tour. While the centre itself is an older building, the educators truly make it special. They are amazing, caring, and genuinely dedicated to the children. It’s also really reassuring to see a Director who is present, supportive, and clearly there for both the team and the families. The fees are definitely way higher than other childcare centres ! There are so many positive changes and improvements happening, and it’s great to see fresh, young ideas being introduced alongside the experience already there. It’s really uplifting to see the centre evolving in such a positive direction. Highly recommend.

No one ever says hi. No one ever returns phone calls or emails. Countless times I had picked my kid up with a dirty nappy which had obviously been like it for some time. My husband who had never been to the centre before picked our child up and they did not request id or even ask his name they had no idea who he was and let him leave. I would advise never to let your kid come here.

Grime and mess in the rooms from the day before, incident reports not being filled out properly or at all!!!, the children constantly have empty water bottles, teachers not acknowledge the children on arrival which is just like… cmon… like really… a simple hi wouldn’t hurt Teachers look like they want to give up, I don’t see any motivation or enthusiasm which trickles down to the children Obviously happy to take the money but not put any real work into our children. If you want all the good work you put into your kids to go down the tubes, send them here. They’ll mess things up for them real good 👍🏽

See more Kindy Patch wasn’t our first choice but I’m so thrilled it was worked out this way with my son attending Kindy Patch Forresters beach. From day one I felt reassured he was in caring, positive and supportive hands. They’ve helped teach my son skills & educate him in ways I didn’t even consider. The educators always seem to be across any health concerns and share that with me at first notice. The educators are always positive and outgoing and make me feel secure in leaving him there while I work. The food they cook and get the kids to eat is healthy and nutritious and I couldn’t be happier with Kindy Patch and the community it creates.

We couldn't speak more highly of the service, facilities, equipment and most of all the caring and amazing educators. Our son was only 10.5 months when he started and he's grown to absolutely love the centre and adore the educators. He's so happy when arriving and some days its hard to get him to leave because he's having so much fun. The communication from the educators is fantastic. We receive updates all throughout the day on the xplore app as well as emails and educators always have time to chat about the day on pick-up. We are so happy that we chose this centre for our son and have recommended them to friends and family.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Kindy Patch uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kindy Patch is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
