"Through nurture, respect, and relationships, we create an environment that builds children’s confidence and supports positive learning outcomes."

My career in early learning began in 2013, and I joined the team at Kindy Patch Salisbury Heights in 2023. What I particularly love about working in the early childhood sector is building trusting relationships with the children in our care, their families, and the local community. These relationships help create positive outcomes for children by providing a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment. My passion for early childhood education is driven by my connections with people and my love for creating engaging play invitations.

My teaching style is guided by being present in the moment, challenging children’s ideas and thinking, and connecting with nature. Through nurture, respect, and relationships, we create an environment that builds children’s confidence and supports positive learning outcomes. I enjoy catering to children’s individual needs and helping our team upskill to ensure an inclusive environment for all families.

Our team consists of respectful, inspiring, and passionate educators who are dedicated to making a positive difference in each child’s life. We regularly hold centre events to invite families to be part of our community and offer support wherever possible.

I look forward to welcoming your family to Kindy Patch Salisbury Heights early education centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Salisbury Heights, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Children learn through play, relationships, routines, outdoor exploration and intentional teaching..

Sustainability and nature play

Sustainability is part of everyday learning. Children help grow and harvest vegetables, care for plants and gardens, reuse materials and explore loose parts, soil, flowers, insects and natural resources. Educators talk with children about reducing waste, caring for living things and looking after the world around them.

Creative arts, storytelling and language

Children express ideas through painting, drawing, drama, dance, music, storytelling and craft. Educators also create story tables with puppets, props, loose parts and natural materials, helping children retell stories, build language and use their imagination. Children also explore Auslan, bilingual books, songs and cultural stories.

Music, movement and self-regulation

Our exclusive Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program gives children regular opportunities for rhythm, singing, movement and dance. These experiences help children practise listening, memory, concentration and self-regulation in active, age-appropriate ways. The Emmy & Friends program is also used across the rooms to support social and emotional learning.

STEM, problem solving and life skills

Children explore early STEM through building, measuring, experimenting and open-ended play. Educators ask questions and encourage children to test ideas, work together and solve problems using real materials. Children also build practical life skills through food preparation, gardening, routines and age-appropriate responsibilities.

Our Preschool and Flying Start program supports children’s independence, communication, problem-solving, social skills and school readiness. Led by our Early Childhood Teacher, the program helps children build the confidence and practical skills they need for their transition to school.

Children take part in school-like experiences such as lunchbox days, managing their own food, dressing, toileting and packing away. Where possible, we support connections with local schools through transition visits and familiarisation opportunities.

Our preschool teachers work closely with families to understand each child’s transition needs and share learning documentation that highlights each child’s strengths, interests and areas for further development.

In this room, children are encouraged to:

  • Build independence, confidence and self-help skills
  • Develop early literacy and numeracy through play and intentional teaching
  • Strengthen communication, friendships and social-emotional skills
  • Practise school routines, including lunchbox days and managing belongings
  • Take part in group learning and transition-to-school experiences
  • Prepare for a smooth and confident transition to school

See more I started sending my daughter to Kindy Patch Salisbury Heights when she was just 2 years old, beginning in the toddler room. Today was her final day in the preschool room as she gets ready for the next big step in her life—starting school. I couldn't be happier with the journey we've shared with Kindy Patch. The staff have been absolutely amazing and have supported my daughter from day one. One of the things I love most is that every time you walk into the centre, everyone greets both you and your child by name. They genuinely care and treat you with kindness and respect, never like you're just another family. My daughter was very attached to me and would often cry at drop-off. The educators were always there to comfort her with cuddles and reassurance, allowing me to leave knowing she was safe, happy, and in caring hands. At pick-up time, different staff members would always take the time to tell me about her day, which meant so much. She has made so many wonderful friendships with both the children and the educators, and she will miss them dearly. Watching her grow in confidence, independence, and happiness over the years has been incredible, and I know Kindy Patch has played a huge part in that. Thank you to all the wonderful educators and staff at Kindy Patch Salisbury Heights for everything you've done for our family. We will always be grateful for the love, care, and support you've shown my daughter. I highly recommend this centre to any family looking for a warm, caring, and supportive environment for their child.

During my time here, my confidence was deeply shaken by some of the staff's unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour. They fail to understand that students are here to learn; instead, they treated me like a cleaner and a maid.

My boys have made so many wonderful memories, and it’s all thanks to the amazing staff who have been there every step of the way. A huge thank you to Maria, Simone and Salise—you’ve played such a big role in our boys’ early years, watching them grow and helping shape who they are today. We will truly miss seeing your friendly faces every morning. I can’t recommend Kindy Patch Salisbury Heights enough. The care, dedication and love you show the kids is something really special. Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Kindy Patch uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kindy Patch is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
