Childcare and kindergarten in Springfield, QLD

Kindy Patch Springfield offers long day care and a Government-approved Kindergarten program for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, conveniently located for families in Spring Mountain, Springfield Central, Brookwater, Springfield and Springfield Lakes.

Newly renovated outdoor spaces

Children can explore newly renovated outdoor spaces with water play, sandpits, a fort, rope run, mud kitchens and veggie and herb gardens. These areas give children space to move, dig, climb, imagine and spend time learning outdoors.

Indoor learning through play

Indoors, children learn with interactive whiteboards, natural resources and environments designed around play and children’s ideas. The rooms support exploration, creativity, group learning and skill building across different ages and stages.

Longstanding educator team

Our highly trained educators and teachers are dedicated to children’s learning, with many team members having been with the centre for 5 to 10 years. This consistency helps children build trusted relationships with familiar educators.

Individual Learning Plans

We develop Individual Learning Plans for each child, reflecting their interests, strengths and developmental goals, and work in partnership with families to review and update each plan over time.

Government-approved Kindergarten program

Our Government-approved Kindergarten program is delivered by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher. Children build confidence for school through play-based learning, routines, friendships and growing independence.

Weekly Bush Kindy at Robelle Domain

Children and educators take part in Bush Kindy each week, exploring Robelle Domain and spending time learning in nature. These experiences help children connect with local places, observe the natural world and build confidence outdoors.

Community visits and yoga sessions

Emergency services visit the centre as part of our educational programs, helping children learn about safety and the people who support the community. Children in the senior rooms also enjoy free yoga as part of their weekly experiences.

“Educated professionals can significantly impact a child’s growth and development, setting them up for success not just in childhood, but for life. ”

I began my early childhood journey at Kindy Patch Springfield in 2014 as the kindergarten teacher. Kindy Patch has been the only early education centre I have worked at, allowing me the pleasure of watching many young citizens of Springfield and its surrounds grow over the years. Throughout my time at Kindy Patch Springfield, I have held various roles including kindergarten teacher, educational leader, workplace health and safety officer, assistant centre manager, and now centre manager.

My journey in early childhood education began with the belief that children thrive when they receive quality education and care. Educated professionals can significantly impact a child’s growth and development, setting them up for success not just in childhood, but for life. I deeply value play in children’s learning and have seen many children flourish in a play-based setting.

I am supported by a fantastic team that ensures the health, safety, and well-being of all children. Our centre is very multicultural, with many educators speaking multiple languages, which supports the diverse cultural backgrounds within our community. We believe that families are a child’s first educators, and by collaborating and supporting our families, we achieve the best outcomes for our children. Supporting parents is vital, and we strive to make them an integral part of our community at Kindy Patch.

I look forward to welcoming your family to Kindy Patch Springfield early education centre.

At our early learning centre in Springfield, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our sustainability leaders set challenges for the team, incorporating recycled materials into learning and open-ended play experiences. We also participate in Earth Hour to promote environmental awareness and responsibility.

Cultural responsiveness and inclusion

Children learn about different cultures, languages and traditions through shared experiences that encourage respect, curiosity and a sense of belonging. Educators value and support children’s home languages and ways of communicating, strengthening identity and connection to community.

Age-appropriate early learning

I have looked into closer centres but nowhere matches in the quality of care the Educators here have. They can tell me everything about my child's day, they delight in special moments and tell me all the funny sweet moments they saw and have beautiful rooms. I was so nervous to put my baby in care, but the educators rocked her to sleep, cuddled her and made her feel loved- now she jumps into their arms each morning! My older child is still learning to speak so the educators learned Auslan to speak with him! They took the time to learn all about him so he could enjoy and participate in the program even though he is still learning to communicate. This centre is incredible…from the really lovely centre manager and assistant centre manager that smile and greet us in the morning to the hard working and loving educators on the floor with our children… I wouldn't put my children anywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks and a plastic bag for wet clothes.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Kindy Patch uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kindy Patch is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
